Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has attributed the togetherness of the country, despite challenges, to the grace of God, urging people not to take the grace for granted.
He said this yesterday during the 13th edition of the Abuja Special Holy Ghost Service of the church.
Adeboye said Nigerians should not have the impression that God is not hearing prayers, as a result of security problems.
He also warned citizens not to overstretch the grace of God on the land, adding that any country that wallows in wickedness would have itself to blame.
A multitude of accompanied children from across the nation, on Friday night, listened, with rapt attention, when the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, relived how he objected to his election to be a pastor by the founder of the church, the late Rev. Josiah Akindayomi.
Preaching a short sermon entitled: “Great and mighty seeds”, at the April Holy Ghost Service dedicated to children, the 72 years old former mathematics lecturer recounted how he joined the then unknown RCCG because of a problem and was contented with the salvation of his soul.
Justifying his teaching on the theory of how people attain greatness in life, he maintained that some people are born great, some others become great by dint of their own efforts while others have greatness entrusted upon them. According to him, a problem brought him to the church.
GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said the New Year, 2014, will determine the future of Nigeria.
Adeboye gave the prediction during the crossover service, held at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
Adeboye, speaking on the New Year, said contrary to insinuations in some quarters that 2015 will determine the fate of the nation, “whatever will happen to Nigeria in 2015 will be determined this year, not 2015.”
Disclosing to worshippers that he was permitted only to speak out two of the prophecies God had given him concerning Nigeria, he said the events heralding the New Year in the political landscape might not necessarily determine how the year would end.
“The equations at the beginning of this year will be different from the equations at the end of the year. Therefore, don’t jump into conclusions,” he warned.
On the international scene, Pastor Adeboye admonished the world to pray against storms, as well as monumental fire outbreaks.
He, however, said more than last year, there would be major breakthroughs in medicine and science.
