FOR NIGERIA’S SAFETY, JONATHAN SHOULD RESIGN OR FACE HUMILIATION – SHEIK GUMI

Sheik Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, today warned President Goodluck Jonathan to resign or face humiliation in the 2015 election.
In a statement released earlier today, Mr. Gumi said, “For Nigerians to be safe, [President Goodluck Jonathan] has three options. He either resigns or becomes impeached as the dirt becomes overwhelming, or he is humiliated in a general election. This time around, [the possibility of] rigging a national election with such wanton scandals is almost nil.”
The cleric added: “What really matters most in life is today not yesterday or tomorrow. For today, Obasanjo has done his best to admonish and warn the nation. I salute his courage and reversal! How many of our leaders can say what he said?”

SUICIDE BOMBERS WILL DWELL FOREVER IN HELL – GUMI

Renown Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, last night preached that all those committing acts of suicide bombings and killing themselves will dwell forever in hell.

In a statement, the Kaduna-based cleric cited several verses of the Qur’an to support his assertion.

He questioned Muslims to be critical of religion towards enhancing their religious knowledge.

Gumi said: “The prophet – Salawatullahi alaihi – is a mercy for mankind. He said the way to Paradise is easy for those that follow his path. He said: ‘Everybody in my Ummah is going to enter the paradise except he who refuses’. They said (the companions): ‘O Messenger of Allah, who will refuse?’ He said: ‘Whoever obeys me enters the paradise and whoever disobeys me he has indeed refused’. Al-Bukhari.”

SSS, POLICE PLACE GUMI UNDER SECURITY WATCH

Police and State Security Service (SSS) operatives are on a 24-hour surveillance of the Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmed Gumi, over his recent comments.

A top SSS source, who revealed this to our correspondent in a telephone interview, added that though Gumi had always been under watch by security operatives in the last few years, but the current action “is an order from above”.

Asked if he would likely be arrested, the source said, she cannot confirm that for now.

“But I can say, we are watching him very closely and we have been doing that in the last few days.

“You cannot be talking about arrest now. We work according to directive, the directive we have now is clear; we are told to watch him.”
