SOUTH AFRICA'S AMBASSADOR TO CHINA RECALLED HOME AFTER WANDERING THE STREET OF CHINA NAKED

South Africa's consul-general in China has been recalled after he was allegedly found wandering the streets unclad.
Lassy Chiwayo, a veteran politician who spent time in prison with Nelson Mandela, has had his contract in Shanghai terminated and is back in Pretoria.

The South African foreign office says he was recalled due to 'health reasons', but several newspapers have reported that Mr Chiwayo was found wandering unclad near his home three months ago.
According to Sunday World, his unclad walks were a regular occurrence.

SOUTH AFRICA SUSPENDS 8 POLICE OFFICERS INVOLVED IN BRUTALITY

South Africa's police Chief on Friday suspended eight police officers involved in the death of a suspect who had been tied to the back of an official vehicle and dragged for about 500 metres.
The incident highlighted concerns about violence and abuse of power within the force and could pose a problem for a police service battling to gain the trust of citizens.
The officers were caught on mobile phone footage dragging Mozambican national Mido Macia, a 27-year-old taxi driver, behind their vehicle while driving at full speed. Officials confirmed the man later died of head injuries while in police custody.

SOUTH AFRICA: MURDER SO SHOCKING ON VAL DAY

PRETORIA (AFP) – Olympic star Oscar Pistorius broke down in tears in the dock Friday as he was charged with the Valentine’s Day murder of his model girlfriend, a charge he denied “in the strongest terms.”
The 26-year-old South African Paralympian gold medallist sobbed inconsolably as Pretoria magistrate Desmond Nair announced a single charge of killing his lover, blonde covergirl Reeva Steenkamp.
The double amputee was an inspirational hero of last year’s London Olympics.
But on Friday he sat hunched and silent except for audible weeping as the court heard that prosecutors will argue the murder was premeditated, a weightier charge that would carry a life sentence.
A bail hearing was delayed until Tuesday to allow the defence more time to prepare.
He will be kept in police custody until then.
