Barely a week after a former Comptroller-General of Nigerian Prisons Service was attacked and killed in Azare, alongside one of his aides, unknown gunmen yesterday attacked the house of a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SFG), Alhaji Aminu Saleh, killing the two policemen guarding the house.
A reliable source told LEADERSHIP that the ugly incident which took place between 8.30 pm and 9pm was targeted at the former SGF, but he was lucky that the gunmen could not gain entry into his house due to its architectural design.
When contacted, the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Idris Abubakar, said the police were not aware of the incident.
Residents of the area, however, confirmed to LEADERSHIP that Saleh was, indeed, attacked by some unknown gunmen, who wasted no time in killing the two policemen.
