Following
the state pardon granted former Chief of Staff, Gen. Oladipo Diya and the
former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha by President Goodluck
Jonathan, a group under the auspices of Northern Youth Professionals (NYP),
yesterday called on President Jonathan to grant state pardon to the former
Chief Security Officer to former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza
Al Mustapha.
The
NYP, in an emailed statement, signed by its national coordinator, Ibrahim Ali,
said President Jonathan’s state pardon to his former boss, Alamieyeseigha
showed his true color as a sectional leader.
The
group called on Nigerians to continue the struggle against oppression, misrule
as well as sectional politics, saying soon, men of goodwill will take charge of
the country.
