WOMAN, 32, DEFILES FRIEND’S 11-YR-OLD SON

Ndidi Uche and Bolanle are not only neighbours, they are also friends. But when Bolanle saw what her socalled friend was doing to her 11-year-old son last week, she could do nothing but scream, scream and scream. What could the mother of two have been doing with her friend’s son?
Law enforcement agents in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State are currently on the trail of a woman who allegedly defiled the son of her neighbour and friend, while keeping watch over him.

The woman, identified as Ndidi Uche, lives with her family at Pakoto area of the state. Uche, a mother of two, is a close friend and confidant of the boy’s mother identified as Bolanle. Bolanle has three children and her last born, Babatunde, 11, is a JSS2 pupil of one of the government schools in the locality.
Uche, 32, and her family reportedly moved into the area early last year and in no time, the two women became friends and even close confidants. Bolanle is a cement saleswoman at Ijako area in Sango, while Uche is a full time housewife and petty trader.
She uses the front of her house as kiosk. Bolanle’s other two kids (female) are reported to be in boarding schools in Oyo State while Babatunde is the only one with his parents.
On her part, Uche and her young twins are sole occupants of the mini flat complex they just erected in the community. In the last six months, Ndidi’s husband had reportedly been away in Abuja, on a business trip, while his wife looks after their 11-month-old set of twins at home.
By arrangement between the two women, once Babatunde returned from school, he always stayed with Uche until his mum comes back from work which sometimes could be as late as around 6p.m.
However, unknown to people, the Mbano, Imo State-born Uche had been sexually assaulting the young boy for some time. But, the bubble burst on Friday, 11 March, 2013, when Bolanle allegedly caught her friend sexually assaulting her son.
It was reported that on that fateful day, the invasion of a task force team of the local government officials on stalls around Bolanle’s place of work forced her and many of her colleagues to close shop quite early.
It was reported that as early as 3:00pm, she was at her house. It was around the time that Babatunde always come back from school. She had thought that her son was yet to return from school and so reportedly waited for him to come home. She did not consider visiting her neighbour/friend, Ndidi, to inquire whether Babatunde had returned from school or not.
But around 5:00pm, her anxiety grew worse and she headed for Uche’s house to inform her of Babatunde’s non-return from school. UInfortunately for Uche, the gate to her house was left wide open while her shop was also left open. Thinking her friend was busy inside, Bolanle headed for the sitting room of the Uches.
What she saw not only jolted her, but sent her screaming at the top of her voice. It was reported at the time Bolanle entered the sitting room, she met Uche half naked, robbing Babatunde’s manhood on her naked breasts and fondling his whole body.
Bolanle reportedly screamed and dashed towards her friend wishing to tear her into shreds. Uche, at first, reportedly feigned innocence, claiming that the boy was sick and was trying to give him first aid treatment pending when his mother would return from work. But all her explanations did not make any meaning to Bolanle who witnessed her friend’s sexually harassing her 11-year-old son right in her presence.
The boy’s mother was beside herself with rage; she was crying for help at the top of her voice, reportedly battering her friend with sticks and biting her all over her body at the same time. It took the intervention of some men working outside Uche’s house to free her friend from her grip.
Speaking with reporters on phone, Bolanle claimed that her son had declined going to wait for her at Uche’s house, but she would not listen to the boy.
“It was a huge shock to me when what I saw her what she (Uche) was doing to my only son. What I noticed was that sometime last week; Tunde told me that he would not be staying in her house waiting for me.
When I asked him what the matter was, he could not say anything convincing, but I thought the boy just wanted to be playing about at home. But he insisted that he does not like the woman’s attitude but I did not understand him then,” Bolanle said. Efforts to speak with Babatunde, the reportedly assaulted boy, were unsuccessful as the mother claimed he had been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
A neighbour of Uche, who identified himself as Bodunde, told reporters that the woman was recently accused by another neighbour of a similar thing which almost led to confrontation between the other woman’s husband and Ndidi, but for prompt intervention by neighbours. “What Mama Tunde just said she saw this woman doing with her son could not be easily wished away because about a month ago, a similar accusation was levied against this same woman.
It was, however, quickly buried by some elders in the communmity. The boy (Tunde)’s mother and the woman are close friends as we all know them to be and there was no basis for her to tell such a lie against her friend who always take care of the boy.” Bodunde said.
It was reported that immediately after neighbours separated the two women, Uches locked her shop and house, and fled the community with her twins. She had not been seen in the area since the incident. The matter was reported at the police station, who had telephoned Uche’s husband to come to Lagos without delay. But he is yet to show up.
