COMMUNITY REJECTS ‘OKOROCHA’S MONARCH’

The ripples generated by the purported installation of a new traditional ruler for Obinugwu Community in Orlu local government area of Imo State is rising up, as the people yesterday rejected Mr. Stanley Nwangwu, Governor Rochas Okorocha’s appointed monarch.
They also vowed to fine any indigene of Obinugwu seen exchanging even greetings with Nwangwu the sum of N50,000.
Some members of the community who spoke to National Mirror said the interim sanction against Nwangwu, whom they claimed was from Arondizuogu in Ideato local government area of Imo State, would be extended to other members of his family.

Speaking to newsmen, the youth leader of Obinugwu Community, Mr. Uchenna Ohaonu, wondered why Okorocha was bent on setting Imo State on fire, saying, “It is callous and irresponsible on the part of the governor to foist a foreigner on us. We will resist it.”
According to him, “an enlarged Obinugwu Community meeting of her indigenes at home and in the Diaspora will soon be converged to impose tougher sanctions on Mr. Stanley Nwangwu until he returns Governor Okorocha’s poisonous gift and probably relocates to Ogboko Community in Ideato South.”
The youth leader queried: “Have you ever seen where a man and his wife alone goes to receive Ezeship staff of office, without any indigene of his community accompanying him?
“Governor Okorocha never gave any Eze in Imo State a jeep, but he bought one Tokunbo Jeep for Stanley Nwangwu. This explains the whole charade,” he stated.
Ohaonu maintained that Ilomuanya remained their revered traditional ruler. “He remains our Obi of Obinugwu in whom we are well pleased. Okorocha cannot tell us who our monarch is.
“Eze Ilomuanya brought autonomy to us, tarred our roads; gave us water and light. What has Okorocha done for us to warrant this wicked act against us?
“We advise Stanley Nwangwu to stay off Obinugwu Community in his own interest because when the chips are down I wonder if Okorocha can save him,” he warned
