Martins, reports said, was given the love charm by a native doctor who instructed him to “test run” it so as to know its effectiveness.
Sources said the boy, 18, had been entangled in sex relationship with his peer groups in the past, a situation where he was given six strokes of the cane by elders of the community.
Sources said the love charm was put into the meal of the mother, unknown to her, and she started acting in strange manners during night fall when the father was fast asleep.
But in a paradigm shift, the teenager found the mother in his room, allegedly caressing and undressing him.
He was alleged to have had sex with her after she had removed her under wear for the “quickies” when the noise attracted the father in the room who rushed into the room to meet “abominable love birds” rolling on the ground.
He was said to have raised the alarm that attracted neighbours to the scene where the teenager was beaten to pulp before he was taken away.
Speaking to our correspondent, the father of the teenager, who did not want his name in print, said the incident occurred on Saturday night and elders of the community have banished him for the taboo after he confessed to put into the mother’s meal some strange substance that turned her brain.
