BUHARI WILL NOT ISLAMISE NIGERIA – OSINBAJO

The vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has dismissed allegations by critics of retired General Muhammadu Buhari that he would Islamise the country if elected.
He said the issue of Islamising the country does not arise because the constitution says Nigeria is a secular state.

Addressing a group of supporters at a town hall meeting in Ketu, Lagos at the weekend, Osinbajo said the allegation is a constitutional matter that cannot come into being.
“People should not forget that I am a constitutional lawyer, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a pastor. Nobody can Islamise me,” he said.
Osinbajo said one of the major challenges confronting Nigerians, particularly the youth, is unemployment, promising that a Buhari-led government would make it a point of duty to provide 20,000 jobs in each state of the federation as soon as the government assumes office.
