Woman Arrested For Refusing To Continue In The Army


A female U.S. Army deserter who in 2007 moved to Canada to avoid being sent back to Iraq was arrested Thursday. Authorities took her into custody at a border crossing in New York after the Canadian government ordered her deported.
Thirty-year-old Kimberly Rivera, an Army private and mother of four, had fled to Canada to escape returning to Iraq, where she had already served  three months. She traveled to Canada during a home leave, citing her opposition to the war in Iraq.

Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel Shuts Down Twitter Account After Receiving ‘Racist Tweets’


Chelsea have condemned racist abuse of John Obi Mikel on Twitter, after the midfielder deleted his account, and have reported the matter to police.
Mikel removed his profile from the social networking site less than 24 hours after his mistake helped cost the Blues victory in the opening match of their Champions League defence against Juventus.

According to Klint in an interview, he had met his wife while she was recovering from a heart break, after which he became friends with her and eventually asked for her hand in marriage.

Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, has described as spurious and wicked, allegations from Arik that the agencies and unions picketed it because she demanded a five per cent equity holding in the airline.

Judge jails woman who refused to delete Facebook account

A KENTUCKY woman, who was issued a DUI after she caused a car accident with four teenagers, has been sent back to jail after a judge ordered her to delete her Facebook page. Local NBC affiliate WAVE3 said Paula Asher wrote a dismissive status update to her Facebook page after the accident, stating, "My   dumb (expletive) got a dui and I

Ex-IG Ehindero, former CP docked over alleged fraud

Pakistan film protests: 19 die in Karachi and Peshawar


At least 19 people have died as violent protests erupted on the streets of Pakistan's main cities in anger at an anti-Islam film made in the US.
Fourteen people were killed in the port city of Karachi and a further five died in the north-western city of Peshawar, hospital officials said.
Protesters clashed with police outside the diplomatic enclave in the capital, Islamabad, near the US embassy.

Catholic Church slams Dstv over suspension of EWTN


THE Catholic Church in Nigeria is set for a showdown with the management of DSTV over the unceremonious suspension of a religious channel, EWTN.
The EWTN, which  broadcast activities of the Catholic faith, was recently yanked off from the bouquet of the South African owned DStv over what its management termed the unpopularity of the programme in Nigeria.
